The Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) is one of the largest development industry governing bodies in Queensland. Its main aim has always been to advance the credibility and integrity, while having the best possible trading position. As a result, UDIA has numerous branches, one being the Sunshine Coast Branch committee. One of the key members of this committee for many years has been Marc Withnall, who has constructively contributed to this committee. Marc Withnall, along with his team, offered quality services, and achieved professional and healthy relations with all the people.
Marc Withnall was invited by the committee to serve and contribute to the processes of development management on the Sunshine coast. He has been giving guidance and advice for more than 2 years. Marc Withnall contributed to the committee under Graham Juniper who was Chairman. Withnall has also been associated with the 2005 UDIA Queensland Conference, held in Port Douglas, which was aimed at a new vision following September 11 attacks. Marc Withnall, along with his branch members, represented various committees including Rate Review Committee, Eastern Branch Planning Committee, and Development Contributions for Infrastructure Committee.
Marc Withnall’s branch included over 100 corporate members and sponsored the Residential Subdivision Award at the 2005 Sunshine Coast Environment Awards. Marc Withnall quoted that “it was fun getting that kind of talent and experience in a room, where we managed to come with some brilliant strategies for our industry.” The strategies that Marc Withnall proposed contributed to the growth of the economy on the sunshine Coast and as a result the membership increased by 15% and his presence in the media grew strong particularly on government policies and industrial issues. He is always encouraging new members to actively participate in events, programs and committees.
